This was a phenomenally spectacular movie filled with deeply emotional and mature themes. Movie revolves around the very real struggles of isolation, discrimination, self acceptance and regret, carefully explored through the perspectives of both the victim and even more rarely, the bully. The movie adopts the unconventional approach of tracking the narrative of Shoya Ishida, who acts as the series' antagonist in his youth before embarking on a journey of growth as his life experiences profoundly develop his empathy and shape his character in his later years, making him regret the consequences of his behavior and attitude at youth, where he ultimately achieves self redemption at the end of the movie . If you have struggled with self acceptance, regret and social anxiety, this story will surely deeply resonate with you.
